139th Entry, Brienzwiler

A year with many stories is coming to an end. And a new year that is still waiting to be lived lies ahead of me.

I work. Often too much. My energy is no longer infinite and needs to be managed. Time and again, if I’m not mindful, I lose myself in my eagerness to work. Other things are then neglected: reading books, maintaining friendships, walks with my wife and dog, honest conversations with my grown-up children, etc.

For the first time in 30 years, I spent December 24th alone with Franziska. It was quiet and strangely beautiful. The grown-up children with their partners and grandchildren spent some lovely hours with us.

30 years – a long time. So much has happened – and yet every day is new, every moment unique and precious.

I wish you all a year of truthfulness and inspiration.
