150th Entry, Brienzwiler

I hardly dare to write this, but I am completely absorbed and inspired by the crosses with natural materials and driftwood from Flüeli Ranft. If someone had told me a year ago that I would incorporate wooden crosses in my artwork, I would have shaken my head in disbelief, but it has happened. It captivates me, and as soon as one is finished, the next one follows.

I think about this a lot. I view human beings themselves as living crosses, arms outstretched, with a light in their chest that I like to depict as a golden spiral. There is no suffering or pain, as is often portrayed in religion. Now I like the idea that the cross represents the human being itself in its glory. Outstretched arms, face turned toward the sun, in connection with the light in his own heart. Hallelujah! 😊

I will have these with me at the next exhibition. I am curious to see the visitor’s reactions.
