A fire is burning!
On Whit Saturday at 10.15 p.m. the police are at our front door to inform us that there is a fire in our forest garden. Our small tool shed is burning and the firemen are already extinguishing it. We all go out to check the situation. After the initial shock, we realize that the damage is manageable.
As we have so many times before, we had dinner surrounding a fire here. On site the following morning, a fire expert explained that a spark probably nested somewhere in the old wood of the shelter and glowed in front of it until the wind did its part and it grew into flames.
A Pentecost fire! Symbolic of lightning and transformation.
We are all–including me– subject to this natural process of life. We take in more and more light and let go of the old.
