Hardly home from the holiday on the Red Sea and I am already back in the studio and work with strength and intensity.
Now she is finished: ‘Madonna’ with baby Jesus in her arms. What an impression and charm in her face! For almost two long years I hesitated to tackle this work. The vacation gave me distance and time to gather my strength.
People often think that other cultures and countries have an influence on my work. That’s not the case. All my inspiration comes from my soul. When I go to the studio, it’s like a switch that I flip, from ‘normal’ Seylech to that of an artist. I open my mind and connect with the great invisible.
But yes, of course, it was also a wonderful holiday. A week spent on a ship with good and lovely people who became friends. The encounters with the dolphins were extraordinary – my heart opened wide, but I also enjoyed snorkeling on the coral reef with countless colorful large and very small fish. And the silence there, deep in the sea – a great blessing.
I draw strength from this stillness and transform it into works of art.
