149th Entry, Flüeli Ranft

Today is my 59th birthday, and I am celebrating and enjoying it. With Franziska and our dog Bobby, I drive to the village of Flüeli Ranft to look along the Melchaa river for a cross-shaped piece of driftwood, which is not easy to find. In a previous diary entry, I wrote that more cross-shaped natural artworks would follow. With a commission from a woman, this theme continues. Photographs will follow.

And then, as so often happens, ideas emerge. Completely immersed in collecting driftwood, I take a closer look at the white stones in the stream. I notice that a white ribbon winds around some of the stones like a string. The name of this work, which will soon be created, is revealed here: “The White Ribbon of Flüeli Ranft.” Photos will also follow.

Lunch in the Hotel Pax Montana ist simply wonderful, including wine and dessert. The weather is mild and the sun continues to shine. At the moment there are few guests here, and we simply enjoy our time together and in nature.

Oh, and there was also the “20-Minute” interview last month on an english radio station, with an audience of 4½-5 million people. I think we rocked it pretty well.

The day after tomorrow, on Sunday the 16th of November, we will rock on. At 11 a.m., I will be in the recording studio with Tino, a good friend, composer, and musician. We’ll talk about music, art, life, and much more… See Music-Talk on YouTube
