113th entry, Brienzwiler
Rarely has a creation of mine engaged and captivated me as much as the artwork shown here entitled Jesus.
It is a simple piece of spruce wood, modeled from nature. Only the branch, which protruded to the right, was cut to the appropriate length. In the middle one finds a small gold-leafed sunflower cast in plaster and sunken into the wood. This symbolically represents the divine spark within each of us. The transparent white-glazed background that measures 52 x 20 cm completes the work as a whole, giving it the necessary calm and sacredness.
It is a work with great presence and expression. I am extremely pleased and enjoy the quiet conversation between us.
